Question:
When joining a two lane roundabout in the uk should I give way to traffic in both lanes or just the one I’m joining?

I was in the inside of the roundabout turning right. There was a road joining about 20ft from my exit I signalled left to turn off when another car joined from that road and started honking at me.

Any vehicle already on the roundabout has right off way over vehicles entering the roundabout. You have to make a judgement as to whether you can join the roundabout without blocking any vehicle already on it.

I have to be in the right lane before merging into the left to turn off the island though.

I slow down and stop in front of them, then stare at them. If the honking doesn't stop I get out and go over to them for a 'chat'!

on any roundabout regardless of how many lanes you always give way to traffic on your right ...you should NOT have been on the inside if you were turning right
