2007 Saturn ion 3. Manual. My key is stuck in the ignition and won't turn back. The car is still running. Is this a regular problem or just bad luck?

It happens sometimes. Best thing is to drive it to a dealer and get it fixed. If you can't do that, do not take off a battery terminal. The car will continue to run because the alternator will supply the needed voltage to do so, but you could damage the computer. If you know where it is, you can pull the ignition fuse to kill it, or the fuel pump replay and it will eventually run out of gas and stop with the pump not running, but it might not want to start when the time comes, so again, best to take it in.

shake your steering wheel back and forth... take your car out of park and give it a good shove back into park or neutral (just saw it was a manual)... it seems like the safety neutral switch is not disengaging properly. this is not a common problem.
If all else fails, drive it to a safe place and carefully disconnect the negative battery cable to shut it off. Then call a repairman.
