The airbag has now protruded to the point that it is ripping along the top ridge. I am afraid that it will deploy. I was told by the dealership that my car was out of warranty as of Feb, and that they've had numerous complaints from different ES330 owners with this happening. Seems like they would've taken measures to solve this by now. It seems like such a safety risk, especially if it deploys while someone is sitting in the seat. The dealership assured me there's been no recall for these, and I would have to replace the entire dash, which when I asked the lady in the service dept if that was pricey, she laughed, and said, "uh, yeah!" Has anyone else had this happen, and if so, were you successful in making Lexus fix it? If not, how much did it cost you out of pocket?

First off the repairs will be around $1500.00 for just the airbag replacement and around $4000.00 plus if the dash is ruined as well.

You need to call the Lexus Customer Service Department and speak with them concerning this because from what you are saying this has been a problem while is was under warranty and what they can do for you is called "Good Will" meaning they can fix this for free to please the customer and they do it all the time.

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

I had to get rid of my coupe because of my first kid. It was a major pain removing a sleeping child from the back seat. You could shop around for more compact car seats for your child. You could also try to slide the front passenger seat all the way forward and the back rest all the way up. Then, with the child out of the child seat, fold any handles it may have and stuff it in the back of the car. I've seen child seats in the back of almost every kind of car. Your just going to need to get creative. Your best off leaving the seat in the car and just removing the child. 4 bolts removes most front seats in most cars. Who says you need a front seat?
