Question:
Do you come across other idiot drivers or are you the idiot (no offense)?

Let me give you a few examples:
Say suppose you're behind a car going the speed limit or even under the speed limit. You think the driver ahead is an idiot for going so slow because you usually go 5-10 miles over the limit. Technically, the driver ahead is not doing anything wrong and he/she thinks you're an idiot for following too close. It's a 2-way street.

Say suppose a driver is in the left lane of the interstate and you are behind them and they're going to slow for you. You like going 10-15 miles over the speed limit and the car ahead is just going 5 miles over. The car ahead is passing, but not quick enough. Sometimes it seems they're driving side by side of the traffic in the right lane. There's a small gap of space in the right lane and the car ahead doesn't get over to let you pass. So, you quickly pass it on the right and then get back in the left lane in front of him/her. You think the car ahead is an idiot for not getting over to let you pass. That car thinks you're an idiot for passing on the right. Basically, in my opinion, if a car has time to pass on the right, the driver in the left lane should get over to the right lane even if it's just for 30 seconds until you creep up to slower moving traffic again. That's what I do anyway.

If you're in a middle lane and drivers are passing you on both sides of you, you probably think other drivers are idiots for going so fast when actually they think you're an idiot for being in a middle lane and not the far right lane or at least the second right lane. It's safer to go with the flow of traffic in the middle lanes or stay to the right. It's not safe to have traffic passing on both sides.

So, basically seeing other idiot drivers is a 2-way street in my opinion because there's a chance other drivers think you're an idiot. I'm sure other drivers think I'm an idiot sometimes. I admit I have done some bad driving, but I'm a safe driver most of the time and am going to make it a point to be a safe driver from this point forward.

So, what do you think of my examples? Are you an idiot driver or do you only think other drivers are idiots? In my opinion, all or most drivers can be an idiot at one time or another. Everybody makes mistakes.

I hate when people are driving the speed limit on the highway yet they still feel the need to hit the brakes when they see a cop.

Here's my story: I was driving on I90 this winter and the roads were very bad. Due to the poor condition's I was driving 55 in a 65. The car in front of me was going the same speed. A cop had someone pulled over on the right shoulder. Me and the car in front of me both move over to the left lane to give the cop plenty of room. Just as were passing the cop the car in front of me decided to hit their brakes and slow down to like 30 mph. Now my car had bald tires so I knew if I tried to slow down that fast I would have lost control. So instead of slowing down I go to pass the other car on the right. I'm about half a car behind the other car when they decide to swerve over into the right lane still going 30 mph. I had no choice but to hit the breaks. I lost control and ended up in the ditch. The other car just kept going and I had to pay 180 bucks to get winched out of the ditch.

The other driver was stupid for slowing down so much and I was stupid for trying to pass on the right. But I still think it was mostly their fault. Your supposed to be aware of your surroundings even whats on your right side.

I'm a play by the rules driver. We all make mistakes.

I define idiot drivers as those that are reckless and inconsiderate. I value my life and other people's lives over getting to a destination by a certain time. If you're late then you need to be disciplined enough to leave early like I do. Or accept that you aren't someone that can be on time. You'd be late to your own funeral.

I don't take many chances. I'll wait. My neighbor (I'm really upset) cut me off and it was uncalled for - just abruptly turned in front of me - no signal. He didn't want to wait a second or whatever for me to pass. I didn't realize that he was a neighbor. So many vehicles on my street. I'm upset because he really scared me. It was uncalled for - just a selfish act by an idiot.

I don't cut people off - try not to - if it happens (mistake) then I speed up so there isn't a danger of an accident.

We all make mistakes. It doesn't make us idiots. It make us human.

But I see a lot of drivers where I am that are immature, uneducated, and take everything personally. It's all about them. There are a lot of accidents - many people have died. There are a lot of tickets. Just the other day - saw at least 6 cars pulled over at a roundabout. On the highway, seen as many as 8 cars pulled over for speeding I'm sure.

It's insane.

Why drive to endanger? Is it so important that you get there then why drive like you could be killed?

I have seen cars flipped over because they didn't see the ice or the snow falling didn't tip them off that it might be dicey conditions.

It happens every storm.

My parents' street - someone always tips their car over in a ditch. My parents and the neighbors have had their mailbox destroyed. A car ended up way off the road into some trees. Going too fast around this tight corner in winter - icy conditions. Can we say IDIOT?

Who drives fast on a windy hilly wintery road around a corner??

You can see it. The speed limit is 30mph not 50mph.

OMG my mom is always yelling and cussing at all the drivers on the road because they don't know how to drive

things that are idiotic:

you are in a two lane road, both lanes going in opposite directions. the driver in front of you is going pretty slow and you're in a hurry (or maybe you're just like my mom and you are too impatient to go slow) so you go into the other lane so you can pass them, but then FINALLY they decide to speed up, but only because you re about to pass them, so you go back into the lane but the guy in front of you is going slow again. this has happened before, one of the idiotic things

or when someone in front of you slows down at a round-about when they don't have to

or when someone is going really slow and it's a free-speed or whatever road

things like that is being idiotic

99 times out of 100 I am great. It is the 1 out of 100 where I am an idiot. So it depends on the trip and whether idiotic things may or may not happen. Usually when not on a familiar route will I end up doing something idiotic. I believe there are a lot of idiots out there but in the past few years I have decided to give them excuses like that they are from out of town or they have a loved one who just flew by helicopter to an emergency room or they have someone in the car (or on the phone) who is driving them crazy. I find giving these (idiots) the benefit of the doubt makes my life go smoother. Great question. good luck with it

Hey; I've made a mistake or two while driving but one of them is NOT aggressive driving. And when I come across an aggressive driver I merely get out of their way.

And yes, there are drivers than have made being an idiot their sole purpose for living. They aren't hard to identify. They are the ones that try to transfer the blame for every misfortune in their lives to everyone but themselves. And they are the ones that pass to the right when it would take just as long to pass properly. They would never tell you that to your face; the use their cars to convey their meesage.

Good examples. Not to brag but I've come across too many idiots:

Drivers who slog uphill. Aren't you suppposed to accelerate....?

Drivers who brake uphill(!) Believe it or not, I get those.

Drivers who hit their brakes and nothing's in front of them. More dangerous than that? Drivers who slow down without braking.

Drivers who tailgate me in the right lane when I'm doing the limit. If I'm going "too slow" for them - then what's the point of the left lane?!

Drivers yapping on their cells and not paying attention to what's around and up ahead. I can always tell they're on their cell by the way they drive-choppy.

Drivers on a two-lane road who can't seem to hold a curve, i.e. I'm making a right curve and he's coming at me, making a left. His left wheels are on the center line. Worse if it's up/downhill.

Drivers who zoom from the left lane and cut me off to exit, when there's no one behind me.

I'm in the left lane, clear sailing. Nothing's in front of me. Up ahead in the right lane's a truck and a car behind it for miles. Just before a few feet when I start gaining on the car, he decides to pull out from the truck, no signal, slog, then he may or may not switch to the right lane.

He had plenty of time to get from behind that truck before I gained on him. Was that supposed to be a "control" maneuver??

Games should be played at home-not on the highway.

To quote the late George Carlin,

"Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?"

I tend to be the one who gets tailgaters on my asss with their headlights flashing because I am driving the speed limit. The only time I go 5-10 miles over the posted speedlimit is on the open interstate of the Great West.

i think you are correct and who cares what other drivers "think". As long as you don't cause an accident and realize they are slowing traffic by being rude and not attentive to other traffic. It's just like people that block a parking lot to wait for someone to leave a stall because they have to have that one parking spot, yet can't move aside for others to pass. THey are rude. You are not an idiot.

At 2 degree physique of ideas is mandatory; human beings passing on the main suitable suited is basically one subject. the actual subject is that folk do no longer and could no longer circulate over. section a million is that any motive force that doesn't circulate over, they get pulled over and get surpassed a $one thousand value ticket. Six months to a year later, if somebody passes on the main suitable suited; the two autos get pulled over. the motive force passing on the main suitable suited gets a $500 value ticket and the motive force who did no longer circulate over gets the $one thousand value ticket. long long previous stands out as the days that folk sense they have the main suitable suited to circulate as sluggish as they desire interior the left lane.

I've done both, I've been driving down a street going twenty with my blinker on, with no-where to turn (it was when I was first learning to drive) But I've also been behind the person who stays at the green light until it turns yellow, then goes.

I like, and agree with your examples.
