Wasilla! Havent heard that town name in 4 years! I lived in Anchorage for 10. Yeah, I would install a heater on your block. Really helps when the weather gets ugly. The lower 48 isnt really set up for that and I wish they were. Especially here in Wisconsin. It gets mighty cold.

it is not absolutly necessary but i would recommend it. a block heater helps your car to start much faster by keeping the engine warm.
