You could get away with it for a while, but if you're like me, you will get caught. In my state, you have to show proof of insurance to register your vehicle. I was able to drive for a year with no insurance before my tags expired. As soon as they did expire, I got pulled over, and I got busted for expired tags and no insurance. They impounded my car, and gave it back to me when I got insurance. I then registered it, but since I couldn't afford the $500 no-insurance ticket, eventually my license got suspended. You decide whether it's worth it. I was a mile from my house. I also got a free ride in the back of a police car so they could drop me off at the nearest pay phone. Needless to say, I don't recommend driving without insurance.

You can IF all of the land you drive on is privately owned. The insurance & registration requirements apply for operation on PUBLIC right of way.

I doubt it. Most accidents happen within a few miles of home.I would get liability.
