Some states do require seat belts in school buses, but not all of them do at this time. The logic behind not having belts is that the kids may not be able to get out of the seatbelt in case of fire or a roll-over accident. Also, school bus seats are padded and designed to protect the passengers in the event of an accident.

I could never understand that either. There are seat belts in the school busses for the special needs children but not for the other children. There is a lot of exposed metal and glass windows that the children could be thrown into/against by not being belted in.

because your school lowers the national GPA by 48.5%and you and all your friends are considered to be an "overbearing comodity" the government can afford to lose and benifit from your death through "taxable losses"

It is because bus drivers in general are better drivers then your average person. And people think the school bus is safe enough.
