isn't it a bad idea to wear sunglasses while driving a car with airbags?

I guess a car without airbags is worse, but surely an airbag exploding into your face is safer if you are not wearing sunglasses?

Actually, if you are riding properly it won't matter MUCH. You're supposed to sit as far back from the wheel as possible (while maintaining good reach of the pedals), and the seat is supposed to be as high as possible, with the stearing wheal aimed at your chest. The airbag is supposed to impact mainly with your chest, and then support your head after the initial impact.

There's less of a chance of being in an accident if you can see rather than being blinded by the sun. Yes, you may get hurt if you are wearing glasses when hit by the airbags but I'd rather be able to see all the time then worry about the small possibility of being injured by them.

Well, what about regular prescription glasses then? Are they less dangerous than sunglasses? There are many dangers associated with driving...I think you would increase your risk of being in a car accident if you didn't wear sunglasses and were blinded by the sun.
